Locks of Love - May 10, 2004. Darla joined forces today with Locks of Love, a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. Locks of Love provides prosthetic hairpieces to help restore self-esteem & confidence, enabling these kids to face the world and their peers. For her part, Darla will be providing free haircuts to anyone who is willing to donate 10" or more of hair to Locks of Love. for Bucks - Rampart High School, April 26, 2004.
Darla joined several other stylists to help out with a fundraiser at
Rampart, as part of an event in support of a beloved teacher who is
undergoing treatment for cancer. Many students and teachers lined
up to have their heads shaved in a show of solidarity for the popular
teacher. Everyone had a lot of fun while raising several thousand dollars for
their cause. And thanks to Darla's efforts, there are many kids
walking around today who can't complain about bad hair days!
